BJP MP Ravi Kishan has emphasised that those responsible for the NEET exam paper leak must face the most stringent penalties. During recent remarks, Kishan noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has highlighted the urgency for severe actions to prevent any future attempts to endanger students’ lives. He stated that the individuals involved in this incident must be held accountable to serve as a deterrent going forward.

Kishan identified the twelve individuals apprehended in connection with the NEET paper leak, stating that they deserve the harshest sentences possible. He further indicated that the government would engage top legal experts to ensure that justice is served swiftly and decisively, thereby reinforcing the commitment to safeguarding students.

“He (Prime Minister Modi) reiterated that every possible effort will be made to ensure expedited justice. This will convey a strong message to future generations,” Kishan added, asserting that the focus should be on protecting educational integrity.

Call For Political Unity To Address Examination Malpractices

Kishan also conveyed Modi’s appeal for political unity in addressing examination paper leaks. He mentioned that the Prime Minister called upon all political factions to transcend their differences and collaboratively seek solutions to this pressing issue. Kishan reiterated the Prime Minister’s view that these events transcend state boundaries, emphasising the need for a unified, collective response.

“The Prime Minister articulated that the critical focus should be on devising effective strategies for collaboration, irrespective of where the incidents have occurred. This is a national issue that demands immediate attention,” Kishan remarked.

Furthermore, Kishan highlighted the Prime Minister’s encouragement for members of the ruling party to maintain open lines of communication with opposition representatives. This engagement aims to foster understanding and address grievances, even amidst ongoing disruptions in Parliament. He stated, “The Prime Minister has advised us to engage with opposition members to comprehend their perspectives better.”

Protests Erupt Over NEET Paper Leak Scandal

On July 20, protests intensified, led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) concerning the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak. Demonstrators have called for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest, aimed at drawing attention to the incident, escalated into violence with significant clashes reported in Delhi.

The Delhi Police reported injuries to over one hundred police personnel during the confrontations, along with around sixty protesters sustaining injuries. Allegations have emerged that demonstrators hurled stones and attempted to breach police barricades, resulting in damages to public property and government vehicles.

In response to these events, the Delhi Police registered FIRs against unidentified individuals linked to the vandalism and stone-pelting incidents that occurred near Connaught Place and Parliament Street. Leaders from the CJP met with Union Health Minister JP Nadda to discuss pressing concerns, asking for Pradhan’s resignation and compensation for families of deceased NEET aspirants, amongst other demands.

CJP’s spokesperson Saurav Das declared that protests would persist until satisfactory resolutions are achieved, which include demands for the immediate release of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk.
