Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor has revealed his philanthropic side on the occasion of his 38th birthday. The ‘Ek Villain Returns’ actor hosted a charity closet sale in collaboration with thrift store Dolce Vee on his birthday on 26th June this year.
The actor has handpicked some of his most cherished outfits and personal favourites for the sale. The proceeds from the sale will be donated to Mumbai-based non-profit organisation OSCAR Foundation, which uses football as a tool to motivate underprivileged children to continue with their school education.
Announcing the sale, the actor shared in a social media post, “I’m celebrating my birthday this year with my third charity closet sale with @dolceveelove! I hope you enjoy these personal picks as much as I’ve enjoyed wearing them, and each of your purchases will help empower children through the transformative power of sport at @oscar_foundation. This latest drop saves over 1.1 lakh litres of water and 279 kgs of carbon – so here’s to the power of sharing.”
The actor also shared a reel featuring himself in the outfits which are up for sale. These mostly include jackets and t-shirts from which Arjun’s fans and followers can take their pick.
OSCAR Foundation is a community based Sports for Development (S4D) organisation that uses the power of football to encourage children to stay in school and equip them with skills to make them resilient and future ready. Through its Football, Education and Young Leader programmes, the Foundation claims that they have empowered 14,000 children and youth in low-income communities in India since 2010.
Expressing their gratitude to the actor for his philanthropic initiative, OSCAR Foundation mentioned in a social media post, “Happy birthday, @arjunkapoor ! Thank you for the delicious cake you sent our way. We hope to host you soon and watch you play a game of football with children from our programme. Your unwavering support, in collaboration with @dolceveelove , has been instrumental in empowering the lives of children residing in underserved communities. Together, we are making a remarkable difference. Thank you, and may your birthday be filled with happiness and countless blessings.”
This is not the first time Arjun has hosted a charity closet sale to benefit underprivileged students. He has done this twice earlier. The actor’s second charity closet sale was hosted to honour the United Nations International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in April this year.
On the work front, Arjun Kapoor features alongside actress Bhoomi Pednekar in the upcoming suspense drama thriller ‘The Lady Killer’. He was last seen in the action-thriller film ‘Kuttey’ which released in January this year. The film also stars Tabu, Naseeruddin Shah, Konkona Sen Sharma and Radhika Madan in key roles.
