Filmmaker Anurag Basu has provided clarity on the status of his upcoming musical romantic drama featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela. He dismissed recent claims stating that the majority of the shooting had been completed, insisting that the project remains in the preliminary stages of production.

During an interview with Variety India, Basu stated that only a small amount of the film has been filmed thus far. He highlighted the ongoing confusion about the project’s progress, reiterating, “That the majority of the shooting is done is a myth. I’ve not shot more than 45 days for this film. The shooting has just started.”

This clarification comes amid rising public interest in the film, which was first teased in February 2022. Initially slated for a release in December 2025, the timeline has since been revised, with current projections suggesting a launch in late 2026 or early 2027 due to various factors affecting the schedule.

He conveyed his eagerness to transition into this project, saying, “I’m dying to jump into that film as soon as I get over with the film which I’m doing right now. I want to finish it because I really want to get into Kishore as soon as possible.”

Basu acknowledged the significant influence of Kishore Kumar on his creative vision, stating, “Kishore has been in my system for a very long time. I want to get it out right now.” The director’s commitment to completing the film with Aaryan and Sreeleela appears steadfast as he prepares for the next chapter in his career.
