Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of supplying satellite intelligence to Iran, which is allegedly being used to target US military installations and facilities in Gulf states. During his evening address on July 26, Zelenskyy made these assertions as he shared insights from Ukrainian intelligence, indicating a direct correlation between Russian surveillance and Iranian military operations. This marks a significant escalation in accusations surrounding Moscow’s role in the ongoing regional tensions.

In a detailed post on social media platform X, Zelenskyy stated that since the beginning of July, there has been active surveillance of US military bases and Gulf state infrastructure by Russian satellites. He claimed that these intelligence images are being forwarded to Iran, potentially facilitating strikes against these sites.

The Ukrainian leader further elaborated on this issue, saying, “I will instruct our intelligence to share with our partners the information we have regarding Russia’s new assistance to the Iranian regime.” He also pointed to specific military bases targeted by Russian surveillance, highlighting four air bases in the region, particularly in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.

Russia’s Growing Ties with North Korea

Zelenskyy expressed concern regarding Russia’s increasing collaboration with North Korea, particularly in military terms. He alleged that Moscow is preparing to receive around 30,000 North Korean troops to bolster its military forces. This assertion suggests a significant strengthening of military ties between the two nations, with implications for regional stability.

Preparations in Russia’s Voronezh region have reportedly been underway since June for this influx of North Korean troops. Additionally, Ukraine has received intelligence indicating that North Korea is also preparing to transfer missile launchers to Russia, which Zelenskyy described as a critical international security threat affecting not only Ukraine but countries across Asia.

“This is a threat not only to Ukraine,” Zelenskyy noted, “but also to countries in Asia that are within the range of North Korean missiles.” These comments underscore the potential risks associated with the military partnership between Russia and North Korea, especially concerning global security dynamics.

Domestically, Zelenskyy condemned Russian attacks on Ukrainian agricultural infrastructure, claiming that these actions aim to exacerbate global food price inflation.
