The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar travelled to the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday, bringing along their son Vedavid Dhar and other family members. Among those accompanying them was Yami’s brother Ojas Gautam, who has previously served as an assistant director on Dhar’s film projects. Their parents also joined the visit, making it a family outing.

Spiritual Experience At The Temple

Following their prayers at the temple, Yami expressed her long-standing desire to visit the revered site. She remarked that she had heard much about it over the years but was unable to make the trip during the filming of “Oh My God 2” due to her professional commitments. However, she felt fortunate to have had the opportunity to pay her respects alongside her family.

Yami shared her feelings about the visit, stating, “I had always heard words of praise about this place, words beyond even the highest praise. During the shooting of ‘Oh My God 2’, I could not come because of some work commitments.” She emphasised the emotional significance of the visit, saying, “But when the call comes from Baba, how can one not respond? I feel blessed to have my whole family with me, Aditya, my brothers, sisters, and children.” In her view, visiting the temple was an affirming experience, stating that Baba has granted them darshan and blessings.

Moreover, Yami took a moment to commend the temple officials for their efforts in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the shrine, which attracts a significant number of devotees. Her comments reflect a growing acknowledgement of the temple’s management amidst increasing visitor volume.

Notable Visitors In Recent Times

The Mahakaleshwar temple has been a notable destination for various prominent film personalities in recent months. Among the attendees have been Kailash Kher, Madhur Bhandarkar, and Celina Jaitley. The celebrity presence has contributed to the temple’s recognition as a spiritual site of interest to many in the entertainment industry.

Last month, actress Tamannaah Bhatia also visited the shrine, participating in the traditional Bhasma Aarti, reinforcing the temple’s reputation as a spiritual refuge for artists. The temple has also welcomed Dhurandhar actor Sara Arjun and her parents earlier this year, further establishing its appeal.

Additionally, Bollywood star Akshay Kumar, known for his frequent visits, made a trip earlier this year accompanied by his mother-in-law, actor Dimple Kapadia, during promotional activities for “Bhooth Bangla.” In March, Tiger Shroff also paid a visit, further illustrating the temple’s ongoing connection with leading figures from Indian cinema.
