Xiaomi Launches Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G in India

Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G in India, augmenting its entry-level smartphone portfolio. These models follow the recent introduction of the Redmi A7 Pro 5G. Both smartphones showcase several colour options and are scheduled for release on April 23 through platforms such as Amazon, Flipkart, and Xiaomi’s retail outlets.

The Redmi A7 Pro 4G comes with a 6.9-inch LCD display, delivering a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. In comparison, the Redmi A7 4G sports a slightly smaller 6.88-inch LCD screen, featuring a resolution of 720 x 1,640 pixels. Both devices support a 120Hz refresh rate alongside a peak brightness of up to 800 nits, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and an 8-bit colour depth. Additionally, they are designed with a centre-aligned hole-punch cutout for the front-facing camera.

Regarding camera specifications, both smartphones are equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera accompanied by an LED flash, as well as an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. These features are intended to enhance the photography experience for users.

Performance and Battery Life

Both the Redmi A7 Pro 4G and Redmi A7 4G are powered by the Unisoc T7250 SoC. The Pro version provides 4GB of RAM, while its standard counterpart offers 3GB of RAM. Both models come with 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded by up to 2TB using a dedicated microSD card slot. This configuration caters to the needs of users looking for efficient and expandable storage solutions.

In terms of battery capacity, the Redmi A7 Pro 4G features a robust 6,300mAh battery, while the Redmi A7 4G has a slightly smaller battery. Both devices support 15W wired charging as well as 7.5W reverse wired charging, ensuring users have adequate power for prolonged usage throughout the day.

On the software front, the Redmi A7 Pro 4G operates on HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, and promises four years of Android updates coupled with six years of security updates. Conversely, the standard variant runs on HyperOS 2, rooted in Android 15, with a commitment to two years of operating system updates and three years of security updates. Notably, both devices also boast an IP52 rating for dust and splash resistance, enhancing their durability.

Pricing and Availability Details

The pricing for the Redmi A7 Pro 4G is set at Rs. 11,499 for the sole variant featuring 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It is available in Black and Sky Sunset Orange. The Redmi A7 4G is offered at Rs. 10,499 for the model with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, available in Black and Sky Blue shades.

Sales for both smartphones will commence on April 23 via various online retailers, including Mi.com, Amazon India, and Flipkart, in addition to physical Xiaomi retail stores located across the nation. This launch marks an important step for Xiaomi in consolidating its presence in the entry-level smartphone segment in India.
