Telangana Student Found Dead in London, Family Seeks Clarification

The CSR Journal Magazine

A 25-year-old student from Kamareddy district in Telangana has been discovered deceased under unclear circumstances in London. The family identified the student as S Srinath Reddy, who had been residing in the UK for approximately 14 months to pursue higher education.

According to reports, Srinath Reddy’s father, Madhusudan Reddy, expressed the family’s distress over the ambiguity surrounding his son’s death. They have urged both the Indian central government and the Telangana state government to assist in the swift repatriation of Srinath’s body to India.

Family’s Last Communication

Family members reported that Srinath had communicated with them on the evening of June 22, 2026, during which no unusual signs were detected. His father noted that Srinath had attended a birthday celebration later that night, according to information relayed by friends.

A relative of the family, whose own son resides in London, mentioned that Srinath’s roommate allegedly discovered him deceased on the morning of June 23, 2026. The roommate reportedly informed others that Srinath may have died by suicide.

The family indicated that they were not immediately aware of the incident and only learnt about it through various acquaintances and friends of Srinath. There has been no formal statement released by British authorities regarding the circumstances of the death.

Call for Assistance

The family of the deceased has made a public appeal for assistance from the Indian government to expedite the process of repatriating Srinath’s remains. In their statement, they emphasised the need for clarity to understand the events leading up to their son’s untimely demise.

As the investigation progresses, authorities in the United Kingdom have yet to disclose detailed information, leaving the family and the local community seeking answers. This tragic incident has raised concerns within the Indian student community abroad about safety and communication.

In light of these events, community leaders and members have begun discussions regarding support for international students in London. The aim is to ensure the mental well-being and safety of students studying far from their homes.
