Fresh disclosures from the Special Task Force (STF) have revealed that Mohammad Hamim Mondal, a suspected operative of the Shahzad Bhatti gang linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), personally traveled to Chinar Park in New Town to conduct reconnaissance on West Bengal Chief Justice/Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari’s residence and official convoy routes.

According to STF sources, Mondal took a rented cab straight to the high-security route utilized by the Chief Minister’s convoy to map out logistical details. Investigators noted that while Mondal managed to inspect the residence physically, he refrained from capturing photos or videos due to the heavy presence of surveillance cameras in the area, deliberately working around CCTV blind spots to gather intelligence.

This development follows previous disclosures by the West Bengal STF, which stated that Mondal was receiving direct instructions from handlers in Pakistan. Beyond targeting state leadership, authorities allege that Mondal was also involved in plotting subversive activities during demonstrations at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
