The CSR Journal Magazine

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Thursday said that Somnath Temple stands as a living symbol of India’s Sanatan culture, faith and indomitable spirit, asserting that despite centuries of invasions and challenges, the temple continues to reflect the eternal strength of Indian civilisation.

According to an official release, Dhami said the “75 Years of Heritage” programme, scheduled to be held at the Somnath Temple premises from May 8 to 11, is not merely a religious event but a celebration of India’s cultural consciousness, national pride and spiritual legacy.

He stated that the programme would play an important role in connecting the younger generation with the country’s traditions and Sanatan values. “Somnath continues to convey to the world that the strength of Indian culture and spiritual consciousness is eternal and unbreakable,” the Chief Minister said.

Dhami further highlighted that under the leadership of PM Modi, efforts to preserve, promote and revive India’s spiritual and cultural heritage are progressing with renewed commitment across the country. He cited the redevelopment and expansion of major religious sites including Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Mahakal Lok, Kedarnath Temple and Badrinath Temple as examples of India’s ongoing cultural renaissance.

Cultural Events Strengthening National Consciousness

The Chief Minister said such initiatives are helping younger generations reconnect with their roots, traditions and the core values of Indian civilisation. He added that these events are also strengthening cultural unity, patriotism and spiritual awareness among citizens.

Expressing confidence in the impact of the Somnath programme, Dhami said the event would further reinforce India’s Sanatan traditions and cultural pride on the global stage.

“In Dehradun, during the Chief Minister Dialogue Programme, engaged in conversation with livestock farmers, dairy producers and fish farmers to understand their experiences, and also honoured livestock farmers who have excelled in their work,” Dhami said in his post.
