Jana Nayagan Concludes Week One With Global Earnings Of Rs 255 Crore

The CSR Journal Magazine

The political action drama Jana Nayagan, marking the farewell of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay from cinema, has successfully completed its first week in theatres, achieving a global collection of Rs 255 crore. The film saw a predictable decline in weekday performance, though it managed a consistent presence in both domestic and international box office markets.

As per Sacnilk, an industry tracking service, the film gathered approximately Rs 6.10 crore nett in India on its seventh day, which was a Wednesday. Consequently, the total nett earnings from India stand at Rs 149.50 crore, while the gross collection has reached Rs 174.63 crore. This performance indicates a continued interest from audiences despite the natural slip during weekdays.

Among the regional versions, the Tamil edition was the primary contributor, bringing in Rs 4.60 crore on Day 7. The Hindi and Telugu versions also contributed modestly, earning Rs 1 crore and Rs 50 lakh, respectively. This gradual decrease in collections from the previous day’s earnings of Rs 8 crore nett reflects the typical weekday trend following a strong opening weekend.

Day-Wise Collection Breakdown

The film’s revenue over the week has shown significant variation from day to day, with the first day yielding Rs 42.70 crore, followed by Rs 21.15 crore on the second day. The earnings continued with Rs 28.80 crore on Day 3 and dropped to Rs 32 crore on Day 4. Following this, the collections decreased to Rs 10.65 crore on Day 5 and further to Rs 8 crore on Day 6, culminating in Rs 6.10 crore on Day 7. The overall nett collection for the week in India now totals Rs 149.50 crore.

Jana Nayagan is currently showcased in 10,359 screenings across the country. The occupancy rate on Wednesday was recorded at 20.75 per cent for the Tamil version, with breaks down into specific show timings. Morning shows saw an occupancy of 16.62 per cent, afternoon shows reached 19.23 per cent, evening showings had 24.38 per cent, and night shows were at 22.77 per cent.

Details About The Film And Its Cast

Directed by H Vinoth and produced by Venkat K Narayana under the KVN Productions banner, Jana Nayagan is being touted as Vijay’s concluding film as he turns his attention towards a full-time political career. This shift has garnered significant media attention and excitement among his fans.

The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Pooja Hegde, Mamitha Baiju, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Narain, and Priyamani in prominent roles. This diverse cast contributes to the film’s appeal across various demographics.

Although there has been a drop in weekday collections, Jana Nayagan has crossed the Rs 250-crore milestone worldwide and is now poised to maintain its performance as it approaches the upcoming weekend. The film’s reception continues to be closely monitored as audiences remain engaged with Vijay’s transition to a new chapter in his career.
