Shruti Haasan Allegedly Set to Write for Kamal Haasan’s Hollywood Film

The CSR Journal Magazine

Kamal Haasan has concluded his comprehensive campaign for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the recent Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Following the political events, he is reportedly shifting focus back to his film commitments, with speculation surrounding a potential Hollywood project that he may headline. Unverified reports indicate that his daughter, Shruti Haasan, could be involved in writing this film as she seeks to get the project approved.

At this point, there has been no official comment from either Kamal Haasan or Shruti Haasan regarding these reports. However, the news has generated considerable interest, particularly as Kamal Haasan is currently planning multiple significant film projects.

Upcoming Projects and Collaborations

Kamal Haasan is also backing Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated film, Thalaivar 173, although the production has yet to commence. In addition, he is set to reunite with Rajinikanth after forty years in a project titled KH x RK, directed by Nelson. These collaborations are expected to further bolster his already impressive filmography, especially as he draws connections between his political and artistic pursuits.

Reports suggest that Shruti Haasan’s career may also see a shift towards international projects, with her previous experience in the English film The Eye, directed by Daphne Schmon. The involvement in her father’s rumoured Hollywood film could mark another milestone in her career, though details about the project remain undisclosed.

Previously, there were indications that Kamal Haasan’s recent trip to the United States was linked to a different film, KH 237, which is set to feature the stunt director duo Anbariv. However, emerging speculation now implies that this trip may have instead been related to Shruti Haasan’s unconfirmed project.

Kamal Haasan’s Interest in Artificial Intelligence

During his time in the United States, Kamal Haasan explored the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in filmmaking. He took part in an intensive AI course spanning 45 days and subsequently returned to India. His visit also included a trip to the headquarters of Perplexity AI in San Francisco, where he interacted with CEO Aravind Srinivas to discuss how AI and emerging technologies are influencing the creative sectors.

These explorations into technology are part of Kamal Haasan’s broader ambition to incorporate innovative approaches into his filmmaking. This intersection of art and technology reflects a growing trend in the industry, where digital advancements are increasingly shaping creative processes.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan is also involved in a major sequel to the film Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. This high-budget production features notable stars including Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. Reports indicate that Deepika Padukone will not be part of this sequel, with Sai Pallavi reportedly taking on her role.
