Ramayana Trailer Launch Sparks Celebration in New Delhi

The launch of the trailer for Nitesh Tiwari’s “Ramayana” became a remarkable celebration in New Delhi, showcasing the film’s esteemed cast. The event featured prominent figures including Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh, Sunny Deol, Vivek Oberoi, and many more. Participants came together for the ceremonial beginning of the film’s journey, termed Pratham Sankalp.

In Indian culture, a Sankalp represents a deliberate commitment made prior to embarking on significant undertakings. For the creators of “Ramayana,” this occasion signifies a collective resolve to honour and present one of India’s cultural masterpieces globally, ensuring authenticity and artistic excellence.

This gathering marked the first time the principal cast was publicly united, celebrating an important moment that brought together various generations of Indian cinema around a shared cultural heritage.

Special Performances and Vision Behind the Film

The evening commenced with a poignant address by poet Kumar Vishwas, who elaborated on the significance of the Ramayana. Following his speech, renowned sitar player Rishab Rikhiram Sharma captivated the audience with a unique fusion of devotional music. His performance intricately blended traditional elements with contemporary styles, further enhancing the festive atmosphere.

Film producer Namit Malhotra shared insights about the ambitious project, describing the extensive dedication and craftsmanship required over the years to bring “Ramayana” to fruition. He praised the collective effort of the team and recounted the casting process, highlighting the thought involved in selecting the right talents for this epic narrative.

Ranbir Kapoor leads the ensemble as Lord Ram, a pivotal character revered by countless individuals, while Sai Pallavi enacts Sita with grace and depth. Pan-India star Yash portrays Ravana, recognised as a powerful and compelling antagonist within the mythology.

Acclaimed Cast Engages With Fans

While speaking, Sai Pallavi candidly shared her initial hesitance in conversing in Hindi but connected with the audience through her genuine emotions regarding her role as Maa Sita. She conveyed the significance of embodying such a revered character from the epic, illustrating the responsibility she felt.

Yash’s arrival was met with a thunderous applause, as his fans chanted his popular phrases. Overwhelmed by the enthusiastic reception, he took a moment to express his gratitude towards the audience, sharing insights on the collaborative joy of working alongside accomplished actors.

Exciting Reveals and Future Plans

The event concluded with a surprise unveiling of Sunny Deol as Lord Hanuman, eliciting cheers and excitement from attendees. Ranbir Kapoor greeted him respectfully, further illustrating the camaraderie among the cast. Sunny shared his deep emotional connection to the Ramayana, acknowledging its lasting significance in his life.

Several spiritual leaders, including Baba Ramdev and Anandmurti Gurumaa, were also present, enhancing the occasion’s spiritual significance. As anticipation builds for the release of “Ramayana: Part 1,” the production team has established a key distribution partnership with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for its Indian market release.

The film’s trailer will first be showcased at ComicCon San Diego on July 20 before becoming available to the public on July 24. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, “Ramayana” is set for theatrical release during Diwali 2026, with the second part scheduled for 2027.
