Standup comedian Samay Raina has donated Rs 10 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, aiming to assist communities impacted by recent flooding in the state. His contribution was acknowledged by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a post shared on social media. Sarma noted that such donations significantly boost the relief and rehabilitation efforts underway.

The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the donation in a statement posted on X, detailing the transaction’s completion through an RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) method. In the announcement, the office commended Raina for his generosity during this critical time.

Assam has been struggling with the devastating consequences of flooding, which has affected approximately 1.55 lakh individuals across 13 districts. The current flood season has sadly been linked to 98 fatalities, further exacerbating the challenges faced by the state’s communities.
