Ram Mandir Trust Denies Theft Claims, Says All Donated Items Are Accounted For

The CSR Journal Magazine

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has responded to recent allegations of missing donations by displaying several valuable items at a press conference on July 6, 2026. Trust treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri stated that all 2,800 donated articles are accounted for and warned that those involved in any theft would face legal repercussions. During the event, he showcased five high-value items, including a gold Ramayana and sacred footprints of the Lord.

Govind Dev Giri asserted these exhibits were brought forth to address claims that valuable offerings had vanished. He highlighted the importance of transparency in this situation, noting the existence of a detailed register documenting each item and its status. “Allegations have been made that several valuable offerings donated to the Ram Temple have vanished,” he emphasised, reaffirming the Trust’s commitment to transparency.

Detailed Inventory Records Presented

The Trust revealed its inventory register, which reportedly contains meticulous records of nearly 2,800 items. According to Govind Giri, every donation made has been well documented, and the showcased items are merely samples of the total contributions. He stressed the importance of keeping track of all donated valuables to prevent similar allegations in the future.

“We have a register listing 2,800 such items, and all of them are safe,” he explained, indicating that the Trust will bolster its systems to enhance verification and accountability. He elaborated that a new committee would be established to assign officials responsible for overseeing the temple donations, thereby further minimising the likelihood of any allegations in the future.

Govind Giri mentioned that measures will be implemented from now on to ensure that every operational aspect is carried out efficiently and can withstand scrutiny. “Whatever work we undertake from now on will be executed in such a manner that no one will be able to find even the slightest fault with it,” he added.

Investigation into Theft Continues

In response to queries regarding cash thefts recorded from donation boxes, Govind Giri clarified that those incidents remain under investigation. He differentiated between the issues concerning missing offerings and ongoing theft investigations. “Theft is theft,” he noted, reiterating the Trust’s support for the Special Investigation Team (SIT) currently looking into the matter.

The Trust is preparing for another meeting scheduled for July 22, which is expected to include reviewing the SIT’s findings and discussing the appointment of more trustees. Administrative reforms are also on the agenda as part of the Trust’s ongoing commitment to improve operations.

Additionally, Govind Giri addressed the recent resignations of General Secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra, stating that the Trust had no option but to accept their decisions once they were submitted. He praised Rai’s contributions to the Ram Temple movement, acknowledging his longstanding dedication. In the interim, trustee Krishna Mohan will take on the role of General Secretary until a more permanent arrangement is established.
