Probe Reopens Into Vijay Sharma’s 2025 Death, Foul Play Suspected

The CSR Journal Magazine

The ongoing inquiry into the murder of Neeraj Sharma in Jaipur has recently shifted focus to the death of her husband, Vijay Sharma, which occurred in 2025. Authorities are examining allegations suggesting that Vijay did not pass away from natural causes, as claimed by his brother-in-law, Rakesh Sharma. This newly opened investigation comes in light of claims that their daughter, Ayushi Sharma, who is currently detained in connection with her mother’s murder, may have also played a role in her father’s demise.

Ayushi Sharma, aged 23, is under suspicion for allegedly conspiring to murder her mother with the assistance of her cousin Balram, who remains at large. Investigators assert that Neeraj Sharma, a lower division clerk, was intentionally run over by a vehicle in an effort to disguise her death as a traffic incident. Seven individuals have been apprehended thus far, with continued attempts to locate Balram.

Allegations by Rakesh Sharma

Rakesh Sharma, the brother of Neeraj and Ayushi’s maternal uncle, has formally approached both law enforcement and the courts, seeking an investigation into Vijay’s death. He contends that despite Vijay being gravely ill, he was improving when Ayushi allegedly obstructed his access to necessary medical treatment. Rakesh claims that Ayushi, accompanied by Balram, removed Vijay from home under the pretense of seeking superior healthcare, withholding information about his condition for nearly three months.

According to Rakesh’s allegations, Ayushi ultimately informed the family that Vijay had been admitted to Nivik Hospital. However, upon arrival, relatives were informed by medical professionals that Vijay had sustained extensive injuries, with almost 90 per cent of his body afflicted. He was subsequently returned home by Ayushi, where he later passed away.

Rakesh further alleges that Ayushi and Balram carried out the last rites in their village. Not long after Vijay’s death, Ayushi expressed intentions to seek her father’s government job and demanded that family assets be transferred to her name.

Accusations of Threats and Family Disputes

Rakesh has indicated that Ayushi allegedly threatened her mother during a confrontation, stating that if her father could be killed by merely removing a feeding tube, harming her mother would be trivial. This threat ostensibly prompted Neeraj to post a WhatsApp status suggesting that her life was in jeopardy. Rakesh claims Ayushi concealed crucial details regarding Vijay’s medical treatment following a brain haemorrhage in 2024, maintaining him in an undisclosed location until his hospitalisation shortly before his death in April 2025.

During the police inquiry, Ayushi reportedly revealed her longstanding resentment towards her mother, stemming from a perceived lack of affection compared to that given to her differently-abled brother. Investigators reported that she acknowledged discussing her mother’s murder with Balram, pinpointing family property disputes and deep-seated animosity as driving factors. Authorities have characterised Ayushi, a final-year law student, as shrewd and aware of legal intricacies, and psychologists will be involved in her questioning.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Ranjita Sharma confirmed that Balram is still evading capture and that efforts to locate him are ongoing. She noted that the claims made by Neeraj Sharma’s family regarding Vijay’s death will be scrutinised as part of the continuing investigation. The findings from this renewed inquiry may lead to additional charges or the initiation of a separate case concerning Vijay’s death.
