Prayagraj Horror: Four Family Members Found Dead, Chilling Note Deepens Mystery

The CSR Journal Magazine

The murder case in Prayagraj has escalated following the discovery of four deceased individuals in a residence, which had been abandoned for several days. This alarming situation emerged when neighbours reported a foul odour emanating from the locked house, prompting law enforcement to intervene. Upon forcing open the door, officers encountered three bodies in various rooms, leading to immediate concerns about the nature of the fatalities.

The identified victims include 70-year-old businessman Virendra Vaishya, his 65-year-old wife Anita, and their 45-year-old daughter Meenakshi. The initial discovery raised significant alarm within the community. The situation intensified when police uncovered additional evidence linked to the case.

As investigators delved deeper, they found a fourth body believed to belong to Abhishek Vaishya, the 40-year-old son of the couple. This discovery added another layer of complexity to an already chilling scenario. Notably, police had attempted to establish contact with Abhishek prior to this finding but were unsuccessful, which raised further concerns regarding his whereabouts and wellbeing.

Cryptic Message Found at the Scene

A handwritten message located near the bodies has raised eyebrows and deepened the mystery surrounding the case. Allegedly stating, “Bunty and Babli’s daughter-in-law killed them,” the note is now undergoing handwriting analysis to ascertain its origin. Investigators are exploring whether it was crafted by a victim or was strategically placed by a suspect aiming to divert the investigation’s focus.

Preliminary examinations revealed injury marks on all four bodies, strengthening the theory that homicides had occurred. While initial reports suggested that some victims may have been beheaded, officials have yet to confirm these details publicly. The investigation team is currently reviewing more than 80 CCTV feeds from the surrounding area to piece together the events leading up to the murders.

Authorities are also investigating the potential for a property dispute to be a motive behind the killings. It is reported that the property in question could be valued at several crores of rupees, which has led police to further scrutinise possible familial conflicts.

Connections and Background Investigated

DCP (City) Manish Shandilya revealed that Virendra Vaishya has another son, Ashwini, who has a criminal record linked to a case in the nearby Kaushambi district. His wife, Ritu, was previously incarcerated for a fraud-related case. The investigation will verify if either of them is currently in jail or out on bail. Should they be free, their involvement in this case will be carefully evaluated.

Additionally, law enforcement agencies are reviewing Abhishek’s personal and business associations for any potential connections to the tragedy. Reports of a recent altercation involving him are also under consideration. Investigators are examining whether there could be a link to the murder of Virendra Vaishya’s sister the previous year, adding yet another layer to this increasingly intricate case.

As authorities continue their detailed examination, the community remains in shock, grappling with the events that have unfolded. The investigation is poised to uncover further insights into this tragic incident, with an emphasis on resolving the unanswered questions surrounding the motives and circumstances of these murders.
