Police Investigate Mystery Woman in Connection with Delhi Fire that Killed Three

The CSR Journal Magazine

The case of a woman captured by CCTV shortly before a devastating fire in South East Delhi on June 12 has become central to the police investigation. This incident resulted in the death of three family members and left two others critically injured. Initially, authorities considered a possible electrical short circuit as one cause, but new findings suggest the fire may have been intentionally set.

Reportedly, CCTV footage recorded at around 2:23 am shows a woman with her face obscured entering the residential building. Just moments after her entry, a bright flash resembling a fireball can be seen from inside the premises. The woman then exits the building quickly and walks away, raising significant questions regarding her involvement.

Investigators are now treating the woman as a primary suspect due to the timing of her actions. Police have managed to identify her and are currently executing raids to locate and apprehend her for questioning. Details surrounding her movements before and after the fire are being closely monitored.

Tragic Fire and Its Consequences

The fire erupted shortly after the unidentified woman entered, with a PCR call made at approximately 2:31 am. Firefighters and police personnel responded promptly, initiating rescue operations in an effort to combat the flames and thick smoke that engulfed the building. Despite their swift actions, three family members tragically lost their lives in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Pankaj, aged 28, his 70-year-old grandmother Sushila Devi, and his 20-year-old sister Soni. Additionally, two other relatives, Pankaj’s mother Guddi Devi and his younger sister Moni, suffered severe injuries and are currently hospitalised in critical condition, receiving ongoing medical care.

Forensic experts and crime scene investigators have been working diligently at the site to gather evidence. They are collecting both technical and physical evidence to better understand the circumstances surrounding the fire. The police are also analysing witness statements alongside the CCTV footage to reconstruct the timeline of events leading to this tragic incident.
