In a message on X, the Prime Minister highlighted Dr. Patil’s dedication to philanthropy and education, emphasising his efforts to uplift the underprivileged. Modi stated, “Shri DY Patil Ji was at the forefront of serving society through philanthropy and education in particular. He always worked to improve the lives of others, especially the poor.” He shared his sorrow over Dr. Patil’s passing, offering condolences to the bereaved family and followers.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh Remembers DY Patil’s Influence

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also expressed profound sadness over the loss of the esteemed educationist. In his communication on X, Singh praised Dr. Patil’s lifelong commitment to the enhancement of education and service to society, reflecting on his invaluable contributions. “Saddened by the passing of renowned educationist and former Governor of Bihar and West Bengal, Dr. D. Y. Patil Ji,” he noted.

Singh further emphasised Dr. Patil’s significant legacy in public service, stating, “His distinguished public service and enduring contributions to nation-building will be fondly remembered.” He extended his condolences to Dr. Patil’s family, friends, and admirers, underlining the esteem in which the late educationist was held.

Touching upon Dr. Patil’s extensive contributions, Singh added, “His unwavering commitment to education will continue to inspire many.” This statement underscores the impact of Dr. Patil’s work on future generations of students and educators alike.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan And Piyush Goyal Join In Mournful Tributes

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also shared his dismay upon learning of Dr. Patil’s passing. He highlighted Dr. Patil’s remarkable career in governance and contributions toward nation-building. Chouhan remarked, “Anguished to learn about the passing away of Dr. DY Patil, former Governor of Bihar, Tripura and West Bengal and founder of the DY Patil Group.”

He further lauded Dr. Patil’s dedication to public service and education, emphasising how his legacy would remain etched in history. “My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and countless admirers,” Chouhan conveyed, recognising the widespread respect Dr. Patil commanded across various sectors.

Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, also paid tribute to Dr. Patil, noting the significance of his journey from humble beginnings to achieving high ranks in public office. He described the demise of Dr. Patil as “extremely heartbreaking”. Goyal acknowledged the extensive contributions of Dr. Patil in education and health, calling them truly memorable.
