NTA Starts NEET 2026 Refund Correction Process; Candidates Asked to Verify Details

The CSR Journal Magazine

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has initiated the correction window for the NEET Fee Refund 2026, allowing candidates to verify their banking details submitted for the refund process. This step is particularly aimed at those who have already provided their bank account information but need to ensure its accuracy before proceeding to the next phase of their examination process.

Applicants are required to perform an OTP-based authentication to verify or update their banking records. This verification is essential for facilitating the refund of fees and for the candidates to access and download their RE-NEET 2026 admit card, which is crucial for the forthcoming re-examination.

In an official statement, the NTA highlighted issues such as incomplete or incorrect bank account details submitted by some candidates, including invalid account numbers. This prompted the agency to open the window for corrections, responding to requests from candidates for an opportunity to amend their banking information.

Steps for Updating and Verifying Bank Details

To update and verify bank account details, candidates need to follow a specific set of instructions. Firstly, they should visit the official NEET website and log into the NEET (UG) 2026 portal using their application number and password. Subsequently, they must complete OTP-based authentication using their registered mobile number.

Upon successful authentication, applicants should verify and input their bank account details, which include the beneficiary name, bank account number (along with a confirmation entry), bank name, and IFSC code. Additionally, candidates have the option to upload supporting documents, such as a scanned copy of a cancelled cheque or the first page of their bank passbook that displays the necessary account details.

It is recommended that candidates review all entered information with care to ensure accuracy. The NTA emphasises that the bank account details must belong to the beneficiary designated to receive the refund. Once verified, candidates can submit their updated information securely.

Importance of Completing the Verification Process

Candidates are urged to finalise the verification at the earliest to avoid any hindrances in obtaining their refund and to ensure uninterrupted access to their RE-NEET 2026 admit cards. The NTA has outlined that successful verification of bank account details is a prerequisite for downloading the admit card.

Failure to complete this verification process may lead to challenges when attempting to access the admit card download facility, thus impacting candidates’ ability to participate in the examination. It is crucial for candidates to keep their login credentials safely and refrain from sharing personal information or OTPs with anyone under any circumstances, to maintain the integrity of their accounts.

Overall, this initiative by the NTA aims to streamline the fee refund process while ensuring that candidates have all necessary resources available to prepare for their upcoming re-examination. Candidates are encouraged to act swiftly into confirming their details to avoid any last-minute complications.
