Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) has achieved its highest-ever power generation of 11,452 MW on March 9, marking a significant milestone as Maharashtra’s electricity demand surged beyond 30,400 MW.

The state-owned power generation company maintained consistent performance by successfully operating all 28 of its thermal power generating units, ensuring a stable supply of electricity to meet the growing demand across the state.

Multiple Power Sources Support Record Output

In addition to thermal power generation, MAHAGENCO also relied on other power sources to strengthen the grid. Electricity was generated from the Koyna Hydroelectric Project, other small hydroelectric projects, and the Uran Gas Power Station, which collectively supported the state’s energy supply during the high-demand period.

In recent months, MAHAGENCO has consistently set new benchmarks in power generation, reflecting the company’s efforts to optimize its installed capacity and maintain uninterrupted electricity supply across Maharashtra.

Chief Minister Congratulates MAHAGENCO Team

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, congratulated MAHAGENCO Chairman and Managing Director Radhakrishnan B (IAS), Director (Operations) Abhay Harne, along with the company’s senior management, engineers, and technical staff for achieving this milestone.

Commenting on the achievement, Radhakrishnan B said the record generation was made possible due to the dedication and tireless efforts of MAHAGENCO’s officers, engineers, and technical personnel.

He emphasized that the organization remains committed to ensuring maximum utilization of its installed capacity while contributing to the energy security of Maharashtra. MAHAGENCO aims to continue delivering reliable power to the state through efficient operations, safety standards, and sustained performance.

The record-breaking output underscores the company’s critical role in meeting the rising electricity demand of Maharashtra and ensuring uninterrupted power supply for its citizens.
