The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Hema Malini, also a Member of Parliament representing Mathura, attended a special screening of the film Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam) on Tuesday evening at JV Cinema in Mathura. This event follows a recent announcement by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, declaring the film tax-free in the state after a preview held in Lucknow last week.

During the screening, the actress viewed the complete film and expressed admiration for its storytelling, visual presentation, performances, and overall scale. Following the viewing, she connected with director Hardik Gajjar through a video call to congratulate the team on their work.

In conveying her thoughts, Malini praised various elements of the film, including its music, hand-painted costumes, and handcrafted uncut jewellery, which she described as beautiful and impressive.

Producer’s Comments on the Film’s Reception

Producer Sajan Raj Kurup was present at the event and shared his observations about Malini’s reaction. He stated that she was highly complimentary of the cast, direction, and production quality. He noted that she exited the screening with a smile, reflecting her enjoyment of the film.

Kurup remarked on the film’s production, highlighting that a significant portion was filmed in Gujarat, a place known as Shri Krishna’s karmabhoomi. The trailer was launched in Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi Mathura, and blessings were sought at several temples including Banke Bihari Temple and ISKCON Vrindavan. The film’s positive reception has warranted repeated screenings for influential audiences.

According to the producers, Krishnavataram is currently being screened in multiple countries, including those in the Gulf region. The narrative is inspired by Ram Mori’s book titled Satyabhama, adding a literary dimension to the storytelling.

Notable Attendees at Previous Screenings

The previous screening in Lucknow, held at the Lok Bhawan auditorium, saw attendance from numerous dignitaries, including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel. The event also featured Deputy Chief Ministers Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya along with other ministers and officials.

At that event, Adityanath commended the filmmakers and actors for their efforts in presenting Indian culture and devotion on a grand cinematic scale. Notable cast members were also present during the screening, including Siddharth Gupta and Sanskruti Jayana, who play the titular roles of Lord Krishna and Satyabhama respectively.

The film is directed by Hardik Gajjar and produced under the banners of Creativeland Studios Entertainment and Athashrikatha Motion Pictures. It marks the first installation in an anticipated three-part film franchise that is currently making rounds in theatres across the region.
