The Delhi Police’s Special Staff of the Central District has successfully dismantled a significant operation linked to the illegal trade of banned Chinese manjha, resulting in the arrest of one suspect. The action was taken following precise intelligence about the unlawful storage and distribution of this prohibited item.

During the raid, law enforcement officials confiscated a total of 424 reels, or chakris, of the banned manjha from the suspect’s possession. Reports suggest that this seized stock was intended for future sale within the national capital, intensifying concerns about public safety.

Authorities have initiated legal proceedings under applicable laws, and investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the supply chain and identify any additional individuals involved in this illegal activity.

Health and Safety Concerns Regarding Banned Manjha

Officials from the Delhi Police have emphasised the critical health risks associated with the use of Chinese manjha, which has been outlawed in India due to its hazards to human life and wildlife. This material poses a significant threat, particularly to birds and the general public, leading to a widespread call for its eradication.

In light of these dangers, police are committed to breaking the entire distribution network of the banned manjha. This strategic effort aims to ensure both public safety and compliance with regulations concerning hazardous materials.

The crackdown on this illicit trade is part of a broader initiative by the Delhi Police to safeguard the community and uphold laws designed to protect citizens. Separate Incident of Violence Reported

In an unrelated case, the Delhi Police have arrested a man for allegedly murdering his 60-year-old mother in UP Colony, Kharak Gaon village. The incident reportedly occurred after the mother refused to provide money for liquor, prompting the alleged attack.

According to police reports, a PCR call was made to the Maidan Garhi police station on July 30, notifying them of a woman found injured at her residence. Upon arrival, authorities discovered the victim, identified as Chinta Devi, in a critical state. She was immediately transported to Safdarjung Hospital, where medical staff confirmed her death upon arrival.

The Crime Team, accompanied by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), examined the crime scene, collecting various relevant samples as evidence. Investigations revealed that the deceased’s younger son, identified as Amod, was involved in the attack following the monetary dispute. Legal action has been initiated under the applicable legal provisions, and further investigations are ongoing.
