Delhi Man Arrested for Creating AI Nude Images of Social Media Influencer

The CSR Journal Magazine

A decision by a social media influencer from Ahmedabad to decline a friendship proposal reportedly led to an extensive cyber harassment campaign by a Delhi man. The accused, Sumit Nemchand Sharma, aged 27 from North East Delhi, faces charges after allegedly producing over 100 AI-generated nude photos and videos of both the influencer and her mother. The Ahmedabad Cyber Crime Branch arrested Sharma after tracing him through technical surveillance and human intelligence.

According to police, the harassment occurred between December 2025 and April 2026. The influencer approached law enforcement after noticing the proliferation of explicit content and fake profiles that had begun to emerge online. An assistant commissioner of police, Hardik Mankadiya, confirmed that the woman had filed a complaint about an unknown individual responsible for creating these deceptive accounts.

The explicit content reportedly inflicted severe emotional distress and social humiliation on both the influencer and her mother, prompting the police investigation.

Fake Profiles and Online Stalking Allegations

Investigators revealed that Sharma, who is allegedly affiliated with the ISKCON Hare Krishna sect and regularly uploads religious discourse videos, first initiated contact with the influencer through Instagram. Initially, their conversations centred around spirituality but took a problematic turn when Sharma solicited a friendship. Upon the influencer’s rejection, he allegedly became fixated on her and began an obsessive online stalking campaign.

Sharma reportedly used her photographs to create several fake social media profiles, which included both Instagram accounts and YouTube channels, thus misappropriating her identity. The police confirmed that he repeatedly employed these identities to disseminate morphed explicit content.

Understanding the level of deception, law enforcement officials underscored how he managed to represent himself as the influencer on multiple platforms, thus further complicating the situation for the victim.

AI Tools Utilised for Generating Explicit Content

During the investigative process, it was discovered that Sharma allegedly sourced images of the influencer and her mother from Instagram before employing AI tools to create fake nude images. Evidence indicated that he utilised “remove clothes” technologies available online to generate the explicit material.

Police have reported that Sharma actively searched for AI software capable of manipulating photographs, subsequently uploading these altered images onto various platforms to circulate the morphed content. This included using multiple websites to create the objectionable material, demonstrating calculated planning in his actions.

Accounts of the investigation specified that Sharma had established approximately ten fake social media accounts on platforms such as X, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube, continuing his harassment for several months. Paradoxically, he maintained a public persona by regularly uploading religious videos while also operating the deceptive accounts targeting the influencer and her mother.

Legal Actions Initiated Against the Accused

A case has been registered against Sumit Nemchand Sharma under specific provisions of Indian law, including Sections 78(2) and 356(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, in addition to Sections 66(C) and 67 of the Information Technology Act. Law enforcement officials have confirmed that further investigations are ongoing, with efforts to fully address the allegations and the technological aspects of the case.

This incident sheds light on the darker side of social media interactions and the potential misuse of AI technologies, highlighting the need for increased vigilance and legal measures against cyber crimes. Authorities are committed to investigating thoroughly to ensure justice for the affected parties.
