Ashley St. Clair Discusses Changes in Relationship With Elon Musk After Pregnancy

The CSR Journal Magazine

Ashley St. Clair, the former partner of Elon Musk and mother to his one-year-old son Romulus, has shared insights into their relationship. In a series of TikTok videos posted on May 15, St. Clair reflected on her experience as a mother and her time within what she described as the “Elon orbit.” St. Clair, aged 27, revealed that she first met Musk while she was engaged in right-wing political circles as a MAGA influencer.

At that time, St. Clair felt that her chances of a traditional family life were diminished due to her status as a single mother. She expressed a desire to have more children, feeling hopeful that Musk would also want a large family. This common goal reportedly drew her closer to him.

Allegations of Relationship Strain

Following St. Clair’s pregnancy, she claimed that their relationship changed significantly. Allegedly, she felt misled regarding Musk’s connections with other women, particularly those with whom he shares children. St. Clair stated that their dynamic grew “weird” as her pregnancy progressed, sparking concerns about their future together.

St. Clair is the mother of Romulus, who was born in September 2024, while she also has another child from a previous relationship. This connection became increasingly public, with Musk making statements about their paternity and child support arrangements. On March 31, 2025, Musk addressed the situation through a post on X, stating uncertainty regarding Romulus’s paternity. He mentioned having provided St. Clair with $2.5 million and committing to an annual payment of $500,000.

Subsequently, St. Clair accused Musk of refusing to take a paternity test and of reducing his child support payments as a form of retribution. This led to further complications in their relationship, contributing to a contentious legal atmosphere.

Custody Dispute and Legal Challenges

In January, Musk indicated his intention to seek custody of Romulus. This decision came after St. Clair posted messages on social media that expressed support for the transgender community. Musk publicly announced that he would file for full custody, citing concerns over her statements regarding their son.

St. Clair characterised her current situation as fraught with legal challenges, stating that her life is under constant scrutiny. She described being monitored by various legal representatives and indicated that her involvement in multiple court cases has led to significant stress. She emphasised how her portrayal in the media is misleading, positioning her as combative when, in fact, she is navigating complex legal battles.

Expressing a desire for autonomy, St. Clair stated her intention to move beyond the controversy surrounding her relationship with Musk. She expressed that she does not wish to be defined solely by her connection to him, asserting her identity beyond being known as “Elon Musk’s baby mama.” Musk, for his part, has 12 acknowledged children from various relationships, including three with musician Grimes and six with ex-wife Justine Wilson.
