A 46-year-old individual from the Masapeta area in Kadapa tragically succumbed to Covid-19 following an unsuccessful four-day course of antibiotic treatment. Local health officials reported that the man had been suffering from severe breathlessness and cough before being admitted to a nearby hospital. His condition necessitated immediate medical attention due to the critical nature of his symptoms.

Kadapa District Medical & Health Officer Ravi Babu provided insights into the man’s health issues. He stated that the patient had a history of alcohol addiction, which may have contributed to his deteriorating state. Initial examinations revealed that the patient was experiencing significant respiratory distress, prompting hospital staff to take immediate action.

Upon admission, an X-ray examination was conducted, revealing extensive damage to both lungs, which led to a diagnosis of pneumonia. The medical team initially attempted to treat him with high doses of antibiotics, but the man’s condition did not improve. This prompted physicians to consider the possibility of a coronavirus infection as a more serious underlying issue.
