Priyanka Chopra has released the trailer for her documentary, The Cycle of Love, which she executive produced. The film narrates an intriguing love story that spans 6,000 miles across various continents. The trailer was shared on the social media platform X, accompanied by details about its theatrical release dates.

The Cycle of Love will premiere in theatres on August 28 in the United States, followed by a release on September 18 in the United Kingdom. Further international release dates are expected to be announced in the near future. The documentary aims to resonate with audiences through its heartfelt narrative and compelling visuals.

The film portrays a narrative that is both adventurous and fundamentally human, focusing on themes of resilience and the pursuit of love. Priyanka Chopra expressed her excitement about presenting a story that she described as extraordinary and deeply impactful.

Journey of P Mahanandia

Directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, The Cycle of Love follows the journey of P Mahanandia, a talented artist from Delhi. In the 1970s, at the age of 23, Mahanandia embarked on a remarkable 6,000-mile trek from India to Sweden in search of true love. The documentary incorporates archival footage as well as dramatic re-enactments, enhancing its autobiographical essence.

The trailer reveals Mahanandia’s early life, including a prophecy suggesting that his future wife would come from a faraway land. Growing up in poverty, he began sketching portraits of tourists, which led him to meet Lotta Von Schedvin. Their brief encounter set the course for Mahanandia’s extraordinary journey.

Reportedly, Von Schedvin promised to return in August after their initial meeting. When the month passed without her return, Mahanandia resolved to take his fate into his own hands. In his words, “I left behind everything I knew,” marking the beginning of his extensive bicycle journey to reunite with her.

Film’s Cast and Other Endeavours

The documentary prominently features Mahanandia and Von Schedvin, while actors Chirag Benedict Lobo and Mina Dale portray their younger selves. This blend of real-life narratives with fictional representation aims to convey the emotional weight of their story effectively.

In addition to The Cycle of Love, Chopra continues to explore various film projects. She is also the executive producer of Amri, a biographical drama based on the life of the celebrated Hungarian-Indian painter Amrita Sher-Gil. As an actress, her recent work includes the American action-thriller The Bluff, which is currently available for streaming on Prime Video.

Chopra is also set to return to Indian cinema with the much-anticipated film Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli, where she plays the role of Mandakini. This film aims to embrace a global audience, reflecting her versatile career across both Bollywood and Hollywood.
