8th Pay Commission To Hold Stakeholder Consultations In Lucknow On June 22-23, 2026

The CSR Journal Magazine

The 8th Pay Commission’s efforts are progressing as it prepares for consultations in Lucknow on June 22 and 23, 2026. After initial discussions, the Commission has moved into a more engaged phase, seeking opinions from various stakeholders across India. This visit aims to obtain feedback from government organisations, institutions, unions, and employee associations based in Uttar Pradesh.

An official notice indicated that stakeholders wishing to meet the Commission must submit their appointment requests by June 10, 2026. In addition, applicants are required to provide a unique memo ID generated upon submitting their memorandum on the official 8CPC website. Specific details regarding the venue and meeting times will be provided later to those selected.

It is essential to note that stakeholders from other states and Union Territories have been specifically asked not to seek appointments for this visit, as separate discussions will occur in their regions in the forthcoming months.

Previous Meetings in Delhi and Hyderabad

The upcoming meetings in Lucknow follow a series of discussions held in Delhi from April 28 to April 30, where employee representatives had the opportunity to present various demands and concerns. This initial round of consultations was designed to gauge the outlook and expectations of central government employees and pensioners in preparation for potential recommendations regarding salaries, allowances, and pensions.

Following the Delhi meetings, the Commission conducted another set of consultations in Hyderabad on May 18 and 19. These sessions are part of a broader outreach effort intended to thoroughly understand the perspectives of those affected by the pay revision, as the Commission looks to gather comprehensive input across the country.

The approach signifies the Commission’s commitment to incorporating feedback from diverse employee representatives, ensuring that multiple viewpoints are considered as part of the decision-making process for future remuneration reforms.

Future Outreach and Engagement Plans

The Commission’s engagement with stakeholders is set to continue beyond the Lucknow visit. Planned meetings in Srinagar are scheduled from June 1 to June 4, followed closely by a visit to Ladakh on June 8, 2026. This ongoing outreach signals an increasing momentum in consultations, as the Commission expands its activities to cover more locations in subsequent months.

The enhanced interaction is aimed at addressing the expectations and concerns of lakhs of central government employees and pensioners. Although these meetings may not yield immediate resolutions regarding salary revisions, they are indicative of ongoing preparations for the next pay adjustment cycle.

By continuing to hold meetings across various states and Union Territories, the Commission is ensuring that a broad range of perspectives is taken into account. This systematic approach to consultations reflects an effort to establish a transparent process leading up to the final recommendations for the pay structure, which are awaited with considerable interest by many government employees nationwide.
