In a shocking incident from Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, a 30-year-old man was arrested for allegedly murdering his mother and attempting to pass it off as a suicide. The accused, identified as Kishan Kishore, a resident of Kherwa village, reportedly killed his 55-year-old mother Sheela Devi over a property and financial dispute.

Murder Over Fear of Losing Inheritance

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday evening. Kishan allegedly strangled his mother to death, fearing that she might transfer her land and ₹3 lakh in her bank account to his brother. This dispute led him to commit the heinous crime at the house of Sheela Devi’s cousin, Jai Singh, where she had been residing for some time.

Attempt to Cover Up as Suicide

Following the murder, Kishan allegedly hanged his mother’s body with a rope in an attempt to make it appear like she died by suicide. However, the deception was short-lived. When the body was discovered hanging at Jai Singh’s residence on Thursday evening, police initially treated it as a possible suicide.

Post-Mortem Report Reveals Truth

The situation took a turn when the post-mortem report clearly cited strangulation as the cause of death, not hanging. Based on this medical evidence and electronic clues, police brought Kishan in for questioning. During interrogation, he confessed to the crime.

Accused Sent to Jail

Speaking to the media, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar confirmed the arrest and revealed that Kishan had been sent to jail on Friday. Authorities are now completing further legal formalities. The incident has sparked outrage in the local community and serves as a grim reminder of how greed over property can lead to tragic outcomes.
