In recognition of his courageous actions, Tyson received an official commendation on the eve of India’s 80th Independence Day. President Droupadi Murmu approved a total of 89 Mention-in-Despatches, amongst which Tyson was the only military dog to be acknowledged. This commendation was awarded under Operation Rakshak, further emphasizing the significant role that military dogs play in high-risk operations.
