Key Initiatives Under the First Executive Order
The first executive order focuses on the ambition to develop a quantum computer capable of executing complex scientific calculations. This directive requires the Assistant to the President for Science and Technology to work in collaboration with the Departments of Energy, Defence, Commerce, and intelligence agencies to evaluate necessary resources and establish technical specs for the quantum computing system. Furthermore, the order mandates that the Secretaries of Commerce, Defence, and Energy, along with the NASA Administrator, deploy quantum-enabled sensors and networks within a five-year timeframe.
