A seven-year-old boy, reported missing from the Meerut district in Uttar Pradesh, has been found dead. This tragic development occurred following the arrest of a man connected to the child’s mother, who reportedly confessed to the crime. Authorities have confirmed that the boy went missing on June 16, 2026, prompting an extensive search by local police.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar detailed the sequence of events leading to the discovery. Four police teams were deployed to locate the child after the missing person report was filed at the Bahsuma police station. Investigators managed to detain a suspect named Arpit Sharma, during which he allegedly admitted to the boy’s murder.

Subsequent to this confession, law enforcement located the boy’s remains in a field, identified through the suspect’s guidance. The investigation thus gained crucial momentum as the authorities worked to piece together what had transpired.

Relation Between the Suspect and the Boy’s Mother

Insights from the initial investigation have revealed that Arpit Sharma had an intimate relationship with the mother of the deceased boy.
