Prakash Raj Joins Sonam Wangchuk at Cockroach Janta Party Protest in Bengaluru

The CSR Journal Magazine

Actor Prakash Raj participated in a protest alongside climate activist Sonam Wangchuk and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke in Bengaluru on Sunday. The rally, which took place at Freedom Park amid heavy rainfall, aimed to spotlight the alleged NEET paper leak controversy and issues regarding the Central Board of Secondary Education’s (CBSE) on-screen marking system. This event forms part of a larger nationwide campaign initiated by the CJP, which seeks accountability concerning irregularities in examinations.

Calls for Youth Action

During the protest, Prakash Raj encouraged young individuals to assert their rights and advocate for their future. Criticising what he perceives as the negligence of elected officials, he stated, “The elected leaders should do their jobs.” He emphasised that it is the responsibility of the youth to actively engage in the issues that affect them, stating that the younger generation has resolved to fight for their rights and aspirations.

Raj further asserted the importance of youth participation in governance, articulating that those in power often lack a genuine understanding of the aspirations of younger citizens. “Youth of this country is Dalit. Uncles and aunties, you are ruling this country after retirement age. Go away. We the youngsters are fighting for our future,” he remarked, urging older generations to step aside as young voices demand to be heard.

This protest in Bengaluru follows previous demonstrations held across India as part of the CJP’s ongoing campaign. The organisation is advocating for accountability, specifically addressing the NEET paper leak allegations and expressing concerns regarding the digital evaluation processes managed by the CBSE.

Future Protests Planned

Prior to the Bengaluru event, CJP founder Abhijit Dipke outlined the organisation’s strategy, confirming that protests will persist until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. He called upon students nationwide to participate in the forthcoming protest scheduled for June 20 at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, advocating for a peaceful gathering to augment their demands. Dipke implored students to unite for the cause, emphasising collective action as a means to bring about change.

As the CJP intensifies its efforts against alleged examination-related irregularities, the movement has garnered attention from various segments of society, particularly the youth. The organisation’s endeavours aim to create a platform for voicing grievances regarding educational policies, particularly those that seem to undermine the integrity of examination systems.

It is noteworthy that Prakash Raj’s involvement in the protest comes amid separate legal challenges he faces concerning a petition related to the Dharmasthala mass burial controversy pending in the Karnataka High Court. This background adds a layer of complexity to his participation, but he continues to advocate boldly for issues he deems crucial to the youth and the future of the country.
