MG Motor India, today launches the Majestor, a new full-size SUV set to take on established rivals like the Toyota Fortuner Legender and other premium utility vehicles in the D+ SUV segment. Positioned above the Gloster in MG’s lineup, the Majestor marks a major strategic expansion for the brand into larger and more feature-rich SUVs in the Indian market.

Larger, More Commanding Design

The Majestor is built on a robust ladder-frame platform closely related to the Maxus D90 architecture, which underpins full-size SUVs sold in overseas markets. With generous proportions that exceed those of conventional D-segment SUVs, the new model is poised to deliver a dominant road presence and serious physical stature.

Visually, the SUV presents a bold and upright stance defined by a large matrix-style grille, stacked LED headlamps, and striking LED daytime running lights. Side styling includes prominent cladding, roof rails, and large alloy wheels, all contributing to its rugged yet upscale design language. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps and integrated dual-exhaust accents lend a muscular finish that complements its premium positioning.

Premium Interior and Features

Though MG has held back on full interior details prior to launch, teasers and media reports point to a technologically advanced and comfort-oriented cabin that matches its flagship status. The Majestor is expected to offer dual large digital screens, one for the infotainment system and another for the driver’s cluster, delivering a modern and premium user experience.

Under the hood, the Majestor is expected to use a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine similar to MG’s Gloster, producing around 212–215 bhp and approximately 478 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Buyers will likely have the choice of rear-wheel drive or four-wheel-drive configurations, enhancing its everyday usability and off-road potential.

The SUV may also feature multiple terrain modes, such as Rock, Sand, and Snow further broadening its capability for varied road conditions and adventure driving.

Market Positioning and Pricing

Industry estimates and reports suggest the Majestor will enter the Indian market in the ₹40–50 lakh (ex-showroom) price bracket, placing it squarely against segment stalwarts like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Nissan X-Trail. Official pricing will be confirmed at the launch event.
