A chilling crime has sent shockwaves through the city of Visakhapatnam after a 30-year-old Navy technician, Chintada Ravindra, was arrested for the gruesome murder and dismemberment of his girlfriend, Mounika. The incident, characterized by calculated cruelty, unfolded in a rented flat in the Gajuwaka area while the accused’s wife was away at her parents’ home following the birth of their child.

A Fatal Argument and Premeditated Violence

According to police investigations, Ravindra had been living as a tenant in Gajuwaka for nearly two years. On the day of the murder, he invited Mounika to his residence during the afternoon. What began as a private meeting quickly spiraled into a heated argument. While the exact trigger for the fallout remains under investigation, evidence suggests a level of premeditation. Reports indicate that prior to the killing, Ravindra had attempted to purchase knives from a local store in Srinagar and eventually resorted to ordering them online.

The Gruesome Aftermath

The violence did not end with Mounika’s death. In a move that has shaken even veteran investigators, Ravindra allegedly dismembered the body into three parts within the apartment. He attempted to conceal the crime using domestic spaces: one portion of the remains was stored inside a refrigerator, while another was stuffed into a gunny sack and hidden beneath a bed. To further eliminate evidence, Ravindra reportedly transported Mounika’s head to an isolated area in Adavivaram, where he set it on fire.

The Confession and Surrender

Despite the elaborate attempt to hide the remains, the cover-up collapsed following a phone call. Ravindra reached out to a friend to confess the crime and seek advice. On the friend’s recommendation, the Navy staffer walked into the Gajuwaka Police Station and surrendered to the authorities.

The subsequent police raid on the flat uncovered the haunting scene, confirming the details of Ravindra’s confession. Neighbors expressed disbelief, noting that they heard no unusual noises or signs of a struggle from the apartment during the hours the crime took place. As Mounika’s family mourns a devastating loss, the Navy technician remains in custody facing charges of murder and destruction of evidence.
