He raised concerns regarding the need for enhanced connectivity and airport infrastructure to support Swan’s international business, praising Gujarat’s shipping policy as “highly commendable.”

Dipali Goenka, CEO of Welspun India, reported substantial discussions regarding the Welspun Group’s role in advancing Gujarat’s status in the global textile market. The focus was on identifying new investments and expansion avenues to stimulate growth, increase exports, and create employment through Gujarat’s supportive textile ecosystem.

Future Investment Plans and Initiatives

Satish Pai, Managing Director of Hindalco Industries, shared insights from a constructive meeting focused on the company’s future in Gujarat’s manufacturing landscape. The meeting addressed significant opportunities in sectors such as copper recycling and e-waste management, as well as sustainable practices to enhance Gujarat’s reputation as a leading destination for copper.

Furthermore, discussions included plans for the inauguration of Hindalco’s new copper recycling facility in December. Pai highlighted the importance of maintaining sustainable industrial practices while attracting future investments to strengthen the state’s industrial base.

Amit Harlalka, CEO of AMNS India, outlined the company’s investment trajectory, disclosing plans to complete an investment of Rs 80,000 crore by June 2024, along with an additional Rs 10,000 crore earmarked for Hazira. This investment will primarily focus on renewable energy and battery storage initiatives. Harlalka also articulated the vision of constructing the world’s largest steel plant in Gujarat, with a capacity of 25 million tonnes.
