Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge called for the Modi government to provide explanations regarding the police’s actions against protesters on July 20 and the alleged embezzlement associated with the Ram Mandir donations on 3 August. Kharge articulated his demands during a meeting of the opposition parties under the INDIA bloc and subsequently shared these concerns on social media platform X.

Kharge stated that Union Home Minister Amit Shah should address Parliament regarding the alleged lathi-charge and the use of pellet guns against student protesters. He emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi must clarify the circumstances surrounding the reportedly misappropriated donations meant for the Ram Mandir, which fall under the Trust managed with the Prime Minister’s supervision.

The opposition’s sentiments were echoed through protests staged within Parliament premises, highlighting the growing discontent with the government’s response to recent events. The protesting Members of Parliament (MPs) made their presence known near the building entrance, demanding accountability from the Home Minister.

During the protests, prominent figures such as the chief of the Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav, and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra participated, showcasing a large banner questioning Amit Shah’s absence from Parliament.
