Union Health Minister JP Nadda stated that the government is fully prepared to engage in discussions regarding the recent paper leak incidents in Parliament. This announcement was made during a press conference held on July 22, where he encouraged the opposition to share its perspectives on the matter. Nadda stressed that over 150 alleged paper leaks, as pointed out by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, are currently under investigation.

Nadda emphasised the importance of discussing these issues within the Parliament. He remarked, “We are ready to discuss everything related to the paper leak on the forum of the Parliament… The opposition should present its views, and the government will respond.” He indicated that a detailed discourse would be beneficial to understanding the root causes and those involved in these leaks.

Further, he urged for an earnest and in-depth discussion, highlighting the responsibility of the government to investigate and bring transparency to the public. Nadda stated, “This is a serious problem that requires in-depth discussion. We should move beyond blame and counter-allegations and discuss this.”

Opposition’s Stance and Demands

In a related press conference earlier that day, Rahul Gandhi launched several criticisms against the government and called for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Gandhi accused Pradhan of failing in his role and claimed that he has adversely affected the country’s educational framework. He urged that the Congress party supports the demand for Pradhan’s resignation, stating, “He has literally destroyed India’s biggest asset.”

Gandhi also raised concerns regarding the police actions against protestors during their recent ‘Sansad Chalo’ march, insisting that those who ordered the actions must be held accountable. He articulated that the students have legitimate demands, specifically citing the need for Pradhan’s removal and for accountability regarding police intervention. “Nothing wrong with it. He has shown India and the world that he is incapable of running this system. Exam leaks are happening one after the other,” he remarked.

Moreover, he called for an apology from the minister responsible for the situation, asserting, “The man who is running this entire system… should have the decency to apologise to the students for what has happened.” This stance reflects the opposition’s ongoing demands for greater accountability and action from the government in light of the continuing issues surrounding examination leaks.

Parliamentary Stalemate Over Resignation Demands
