iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max Expected to Launch Soon in India

The CSR Journal Magazine

The iPhone 18 Pro series is set to be unveiled soon, with Apple traditionally announcing new models in September each year. As the highly anticipated launch event approaches in the upcoming months, various leaks regarding the launch dates and pricing of the new iPhones have started to circulate. The tech community is keenly observing these developments as the event nears.

Recent hints suggest that Apple might adjust prices this year, contrary to the company’s history of maintaining consistent pricing for its standard models. Apple CEO Tim Cook has indicated that price increases may be unavoidable due to rising costs associated with components, particularly memory and storage chips, which are reportedly impacted by advancements in artificial intelligence.

Projected Pricing for iPhone 18 Models

No specific figures have been disclosed yet regarding the pricing of the new iPhone models; however, industry analysts have begun offering estimates based on recent trends. According to a conversation with credible analysts, expectations indicate a potential increase in prices for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max compared to their predecessors. The historical pricing patterns suggest that while standard models may remain steady, the Pro models may face fluctuations.

Navkendar Singh, Vice President at IDC India, mentioned that a price increase is likely across various generations of iPhones in the coming months. He estimates that the iPhone 18 Pro models could see a rise of approximately $100 to $150, which converts to around Rs 9,500 to Rs 14,200. In this context, the starting price of the iPhone 18 Pro may surpass the launch price of Rs 1,34,900 for the iPhone 17 Pro, with the Pro Max model likely exceeding the Rs 1,49,900 mark.

Though earlier reports had indicated Apple might refrain from significant price alterations, Cook’s recent statements concerning rising costs have prompted a reconsideration of this stance. Given the escalating costs associated with memory and production, analysts are beginning to accept that some price increase may be unavoidable.

Considerations for Indian Consumers

The primary concern for consumers in India revolves around whether Apple will implement a modest price increase to maintain sales volumes or transfer a larger portion of the heightened costs to buyers. Tarun Pathak, Research Director at Counterpoint, suggested that Apple faces a critical task in gauging demand during the upcoming festive season while also accounting for potential price changes.

Pathak emphasized the need for a strategic approach as demand may shift toward the latter part of the year, particularly in Q3 and Q4. He highlighted the effects of increased memory prices and currency fluctuations, which could significantly impact pricing across different models. With memory costs reportedly quadrupling over the previous three quarters and the depreciating rupee against the dollar, analysts believe it may be challenging for Apple to absorb these expenses.

Despite these challenges, Pathak theorised that Apple might aim to maintain a competitive edge at the entry point of the Pro lineup. He forecasts that the base model of the iPhone 18 Pro in India may see a smaller price increase while higher variants could experience more substantial hikes. The precise pricing structure will be clearer once the series is officially launched, anticipated in the first two weeks of September 2026.
