Gujarat Man Allegedly Murders Brother Over Black Magic Suspicions

The CSR Journal Magazine

A tragic and violent incident has unfolded in Narmada district, Gujarat, where a man reportedly killed his younger brother following suspicions of black magic. The incident occurred in Bhuchhad village, leading to considerable distress within the local community. The accused, identified as Ramesh Vasava, allegedly operated under the delusion that his brother, Gurji Vasava, was practising black magic against him.

What began as a disagreement between the two brothers quickly escalated into a lethal confrontation. Witnesses claim that during a heated exchange, Ramesh fetched a sharp weapon and ambushed Gurji as he returned from a local shop. It is reported that Ramesh inflicted fatal injuries to Gurji, slashing his throat in a brutal attack.

Gurji was found dead at the scene, succumbing to his injuries shortly after the attack. This act of violence not only took the life of the victim but also initiated a further assault on family members who attempted to intervene.

Assault on Niece and Nephew

The violence escalated when Gurji’s daughters, Savitri and Shilpa, rushed to their father’s aid. In the midst of the chaos, the sisters became targets of Ramesh’s aggression. Savitri sustained a significant head injury, while Shilpa was reportedly injured on her hand. Both young women were quickly transported to Rajpipla Civil Hospital for medical attention and are currently under treatment.

As the local police delved into the matter, they initiated an investigation and gathered testimonies about the incident. The case has drawn significant attention due to its alarming nature and the involvement of multiple family members in the violence.

Authorities reported that one of the nieces, Savitri, lodged a formal complaint against Ramesh, which prompted law enforcement to act promptly. As a result, police apprehended Ramesh and began legal proceedings against him. The situation has raised questions about familial relations and the broader cultural issues surrounding beliefs in black magic in the region.

History of Violence

Upon further investigation, police discovered a troubling history of violence associated with the accused. In 2005, Ramesh had reportedly killed another brother, Vitthal Vasava, during an altercation that was exacerbated by intoxication. This previous incident had seen him incarcerated for a fleeting period, after which he was released through a settlement.

The recent violence has not only unleashed concern within the community but has also rekindled discussions about the legal repercussions of repeat offenders. Authorities are now under pressure to ensure that Ramesh faces appropriate consequences for his actions this time around, given the severity of this latest incident.

The case has raised awareness about the impact of superstitious beliefs and the potential for violence within familial relationships. Officials have noted the need for ongoing education about such beliefs and their consequences, as communities work towards preventing similar incidents from occurring in the future.
