The Delhi Government is focused on improving the speed, simplicity, and transparency of its services for both citizens and businesses. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced this initiative following an official release on July 22, 2026.

This endeavour is in line with the government’s objective to facilitate a more efficient bureaucracy. The Information Technology Department conducted an in-depth study as part of the ongoing Deregulation Exercise – Phase II, specifically under Priority Area-21.

The primary aim of the study was to evaluate the time taken for service delivery through the Single Window System, from application submission to final approval. The findings of this assessment highlighted areas where processing times could be reduced significantly.

Comprehensive Review of Services

The study involved a thorough review of 95 key services provided through the Single Window System across 18 different departments. This platform allows citizens and businesses to apply for various licenses, permits, approvals, and clearances in a consolidated digital interface.

Following the study, multiple process improvements were implemented, effectively decreasing the processing time for 84 specific services. Furthermore, several services have been updated to provide instant results, thereby enhancing user experience.

Rekha Gupta stated that these reforms aim to simplify the business environment in Delhi. By reducing bureaucratic hurdles, the initiative seeks to improve both transparency and operational efficiency across government services.
