Surat, India: Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited, under its CSR initiative, has extended support to the Surat Municipal Institute of Medical Education and Research (SMIMER) by enabling the installation of state-of-the-art MRI and CT scan facilities. This upgrade significantly enhances diagnostic capabilities and healthcare delivery across Surat and underserved regions of South Gujarat.

The newly installed systems are equipped with advanced cardiology packages, offering faster imaging, reduced radiation exposure, and improved diagnostic accuracy. These technologies facilitate early detection of critical conditions such as strokes, neurological disorders, and cardiac issues—leading to better patient outcomes and reduced delays in treatment.

Currently operational, the facility serves approximately 30–35 patients daily, amounting to nearly 1,000 patients per month. This increased capacity helps reduce waiting times, eliminates the need for long-distance travel, and eases the financial burden on economically weaker sections.
