The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has reiterated the party’s unwavering demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Following the conclusion of social activist Sonam Wangchuk’s 26-day hunger strike, Dipke spoke to the media, asserting that their agitation will continue until their objective is realised. He expressed relief over Wangchuk’s health and acknowledged the importance of his life for the nation.

Dipke stated, “Our protest will continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.” Furthermore, he underscored that any discussions with government representatives must occur at a neutral venue, refusing to accept anything less than Pradhan’s resignation.

Protest Schedule and Future Discussions

Another representative of the CJP, Ashutosh Ranka, also affirmed that the protests at Jantar Mantar would persist until the Education Minister steps down. He provided information about forthcoming high-level meetings and media briefings associated with the ongoing protests. Ranka mentioned a scheduled meeting with JP Nadda at the CCI at 12:30 pm, indicating that Jitendra Singh might also attend.

In addressing the media, Ranka confirmed that while Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike had ended due to certain assurances provided by the government, the central aim of the movement remains unchanged: the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan. He stated that details of their discussions would be shared with the press subsequently.

Furthermore, Ranka commented on a video released by the Prime Minister, suggesting that it indicates the government is responding to the significant public pressure surrounding this issue. He expressed the need for immediate action and conversion of governmental assurances into tangible results.

Ongoing Assurances and Youth Sentiments

CJP spokesperson Deepak Balyan announced that the demonstrations will continue relentlessly until the resignation of the Union Education Minister. He dismissed government pledges about fast-track courts as inadequate, asserting that the nation’s youth are informed and will not be easily misled.

Balyan articulated the protest’s core message, stating, “CJP’s clear call is that this protest will continue indefinitely until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns.” He emphasised that while Prime Minister Modi has stated that cases would be accelerated through fast-track courts, the party remains sceptical regarding those promises.

He also noted, “The youth feel betrayed and are troubled,” highlighting the disillusionment among young individuals in the nation. The CJP asserts that previous experiences of disappointment have resulted in a lack of trust towards the government, demanding concrete action rather than mere verbal assurances.
