Bihar CM Samrat Chaudhary Distributes Appointment Letters to 2,027 Successful BPSC Candidates

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary presented appointment letters to 2,027 candidates who successfully passed the 70th Combined Competitive Examination organised by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) on August 13, 2026. The event took place at Bapu Sabhagar in Patna. An official release from the Chief Minister’s Office highlighted that this event marks a significant milestone in the careers of the newly appointed officers, as distributing such a high number of appointment letters simultaneously is unprecedented.

Significance of Public Service

During his address, Chief Minister Chaudhary stressed that public service goes beyond mere employment; it represents a commitment to serve and uplift society. He conveyed the importance of the newly appointed officials in facilitating progress and enhancing welfare within the community. Emphasising the need for sincerity and diligence in their roles, he asserted that the progress of Bihar is directly linked to their level of commitment and integrity.

The Chief Minister also called for collective efforts from the government, societal sectors, and individuals, stating that this collaboration is vital for the creation of a ‘Developed India’ and a ‘Prosperous Bihar.’ He highlighted the crucial role that youth play in this developmental journey, and the presence of these new officers will contribute significantly to the state’s advancement.

Chaudhary noted that between 2020 and 2025, the government plans to create 1.2 million government jobs as well as 5 million employment opportunities for the youth. Going forward, the target is to provide jobs for 10 million young people from 2025 to 2030, showing the government’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for employment and self-employment opportunities.

Plans for Economic Development

The Chief Minister discussed Bihar’s increasing budget, which has reached ₹3.47 lakh crore. To further urban development, he announced plans for the construction of 12 new townships aimed at attracting significant investment. Emphasising comprehensive development, he mentioned the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model as a strategy to stimulate various sectors and enhance economic growth.

Another point of focus was the prioritisation of industrialisation within the state. The Chief Minister expressed intentions to transform Bihar into a hub for steel production and to develop critical areas such as semiconductors, nuclear energy, and food processing. Investments in these sectors are expected to generate numerous job opportunities and bolster the state economy.

The ongoing improvements in infrastructure, particularly in road connectivity, were also acknowledged. Chief Minister Chaudhary noted that travel time from Patna to Bodh Gaya has been significantly reduced to approximately one and a half hours, benefiting the common people.

Call to Duty for New Officers

The Chief Minister issued a strong reminder to the newly appointed officials to fulfil their responsibilities with integrity and dedication. He highlighted the ‘Sahyog Karyakram’ (Assistance Programme) aimed at ensuring prompt resolution of public grievances within a 30-day timeframe. He stated that the primary objective for anyone in government service should be public service, which must include earning public trust and consistently striving for the state’s advancement.

In attendance at the event were various dignitaries, including Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and other state ministers responsible for rural development, urban housing, education, and welfare among others. Key officials from the Chief Minister’s Office, law enforcement agencies, and family members of the successful candidates also joined the ceremony, underlining the significance of this occasion.
