The CSR Journal Magazine

Chand Mera Dil is set to release this week, featuring Lakshya and Ananya Panday in leading roles. The film has garnered significant attention ahead of its debut, thanks to the popularity of its title track, an engaging trailer, and the compelling chemistry between its stars. It belongs to the romantic genre, which has seen a favourable reception at the box office recently.

Dharma Productions has completed the film’s censor process promptly, and this article will exclusively discuss the cuts mandated by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

CBFC’s Modifications to the Film

The CBFC has granted a U/A 16+ rating for Chand Mera Dil but has requested several modifications before issuing a censor certificate. The film’s production team was instructed to remove certain visuals, including a ten-second kissing scene, which must be replaced with more suitable footage.

Additionally, the board has mandated the removal of a lip-lock scene lasting 1 minute and 26 seconds. In total, the CBFC has censored 96 seconds, or 1 minute and 36 seconds, of kissing content from the film.

Furthermore, the filmmakers were required to submit a consent letter for all child artists featured in the project. These changes were made prior to the issuance of the final censor certificate on May 8.

Details About Film Release and Ticket Pricing

According to the censor certificate, Chand Mera Dil runs for a total duration of 135.36 minutes, which translates to approximately 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 36 seconds. Anticipation for the film is high, and advance ticket bookings are expected to commence on May 18.

The direction of the film is credited to Vivek Soni, known for his work on Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021) and Aap Jaisa Koi (2025). The production team includes notable figures such as Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Marijke deSouza.

On May 16, Bollywood Hungama reported exciting pricing details for the film’s release on May 22. Tickets for all shows scheduled before 5:00 pm will be available for Rs 149, while prices will rise to Rs 199 for shows after this time.
