An Indore court has handed down a double life sentence to a 25-year-old man in connection with the 2020 murders of a Special Armed Force constable and his wife. The victims, Jyoti Prasad Sharma, aged 45, and Neelam Sharma, aged 43, were targeted due to their disapproval of their daughter’s relationship with the accused, Dhananjay Yadav, also known as DJ. The offences took place in the Aerodrome police station area on December 17, 2020.

According to the prosecution, Yadav allegedly conspired with the victim’s minor daughter to eliminate her parents, culminating in a premeditated attack. The gruesome details of the crime revealed the unsettling motivation behind the murders, as the couple’s objections to their daughter’s relationship fuelled the tragic events.

A pivotal piece of evidence in this case was a chewed piece of gum discovered at the crime scene.
