The CSR Journal Magazine

Devina Gehlot, the daughter of Kailash Gahlot, a former transport and environment minister and BJP MLA from Delhi, has achieved All India Rank (AIR) 1 in the recently announced results of the CUET UG 2026 examination. This significant accomplishment places her at the top among a vast number of candidates who participated in this competitive exam across the country.

Preparation Strategies and Insights

Devina, a student at DPS Vasant Kunj, expressed her surprise at the result despite feeling confident about her performance. While she anticipated strong scores, she did not expect to secure the top national rank. She acknowledged the support of her family, particularly her parents, sister, teachers, and school throughout her preparation journey.

When discussing her study methods, Gehlot highlighted her approach of not relying on lengthy study hours. She emphasised the importance of maintaining discipline, taking regular breaks, and consistent revision. Devina noted that her preparation for the CBSE board examinations helped establish a firm foundation for successfully tackling CUET.

Regarding the study resources, Gehlot primarily used NCERT textbooks and practiced extensively with previous question papers. She advised aspiring students to focus on a singular source to develop a deeper understanding of concepts rather than spreading their attention across multiple study materials.

Advice for Future Aspirants

In her reflections on the preparation process, Gehlot stressed the significance of confidence in examinations. She indicated that excessive pressure could detrimentally affect performance and undermine a student’s self-assurance. Staying calm and trusting in one’s preparation are crucial elements during competitive examinations, according to her experience.

Gehlot also spoke about the evolving nature of entrance tests, stating that rote memorisation is no longer sufficient for success. She described the CUET as an application-based examination that favours conceptual understanding and regular practice over sheer memorisation. Her consistent revision strategy has proven more effective than long, exhaustive study sessions.

Furthermore, Gehlot emphasised the necessity for students to adapt to these changes and focus on developing practical knowledge. She encouraged her peers to seek comfort in their abilities rather than succumbing to the anxieties of examination pressure.

This marks a significant milestone for aspiring students seeking higher education opportunities in the country.

With a notable achievement like AIR 1, Devina Gehlot exemplifies the potential for success through dedicated preparation and a strategic approach to studies, contributing to a competitive landscape in educational pursuits across India.
