Bihar Elections: Nitish government’s comeback in trends, NDA’s big lead

The results of the Bihar assembly elections are now clear. In the latest trends of 243 seats, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is leading in 190 seats, while the Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) is seen narrowing down to just 49 seats. It is clear that the return of the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar is almost certain.

The biggest highlight of this election is the spectacular performance of Janata Dal United (JDU). The JDU, which was reduced to just 43 seats last time, is poised to emerge as the largest party in the state with 84 seats this time. The NDA is seen gaining more than 60 seats compared to the last election, while the LJP (LJP), which is contesting on 28 seats, is leading on 23 seats.

Talking about big faces, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) senior leader and Lalu Prasad Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav is trailing NDA candidate Satish Yadav in Raghopur seat, while his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav is also trailing from Mahua. However, RJD’s Osama Shahab is leading from Raghunathpur, while Baahubali candidate Ritlal Yadav is also leading from Danapur.

On the other hand, BJP’s Samrat Chaudhary is leading from Tarapur and JDU’s Vijay Chaudhary is leading from Sarairanjan. Among the candidates from the film world, Bhojpuri singer and BJP candidate Maithili Thakur is ahead from Alinagar, but Bhojpuri actor and RJD candidate Khesari Lal Yadav is trailing from Chhapra. Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor’s party Jan Suraaj is yet to open its account and is leading in 4 other seats, including independents. It is worth noting that this time there was a record 67.10% voter turnout in two phases, which is about 10% more than the previous election.
