Indian teenager secures comeback win over Egypt’s Sana Ibrahim

Indian squash player Anahat Singh progressed to the semi-finals of the Squash on Fire tournament in Washington after recording a hard-fought five-game victory over Egypt’s Sana Ibrahim. The ongoing PSA Bronze category event has attracted several top-ranked international players, with Singh continuing her strong run on the professional circuit.

Staged comeback after early setback

In a closely contested quarter-final encounter, the 15-year-old found herself trailing after losing the opening two games 8-11, 8-11. Despite the early deficit, Singh remained composed and adjusted her strategy to mount a strong comeback.

She took control of the third game, overcoming a mid-game deficit at 6-5, and eventually secured it 11-7. The Indian youngster maintained her momentum in the fourth game, again overturning a 6-5 disadvantage to clinch it 11-8, levelling the match at two games apiece.

In the decisive fifth game, Singh continued her attacking play and maintained the upper hand through consistent shot-making. She sealed the match with an 11-7 win, completing the turnaround to move into the last-four stage of the tournament.
