Amazon has introduced two new premium smart speakers in the Indian market, namely the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio. These devices are reported to feature advanced audio capabilities, new home automation functionalities, and contemporary designs. According to the company, the Echo Dot Max aims to deliver rich bass and compact audio, while the Echo Studio is equipped with Dolby Atmos technology to offer a more immersive auditory experience.

Audio Enhancements of the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio

The Echo Dot Max has been described as the most advanced Echo Dot model to date. It incorporates a newly designed two-way speaker system, which comprises a dedicated woofer and tweeter. Amazon claims this design allows the speaker to provide nearly three times the bass found in the Echo Dot (5th Gen). Additionally, the speaker is designed to automatically adjust its sound profile in response to the acoustics of the room.

In contrast, the Echo Studio is crafted to support room-adapting spatial audio alongside Dolby Atmos technology. It utilises a high-excursion woofer paired with three full-range drivers to create a listening experience akin to surround sound. The design of the Echo Studio has also been updated to feature a more compact spherical shape finished with a new 3D knit fabric.

Both smart devices are compatible with popular music streaming services such as Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible. Furthermore, users have the option to connect multiple Echo devices with compatible Fire TV sticks to establish a comprehensive home theatre arrangement.

Smart Home Features and Pricing Details

Apart from audio enhancements, Amazon has incorporated Omnisense technology into both the Echo Dot Max and Echo Studio. This feature employs various sensors, including motion detection, ultrasound, Wi-Fi radar, and temperature sensing, to facilitate more effective home automation. Users can automate compatible lighting, fans, air conditioning units, and other smart appliances based on the activity within a room.

Notably, the Echo Dot Max is the first of its kind to include a built-in smart home hub that supports multiple connectivity protocols, including Zigbee, Matter, Thread, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. This integration aims to enhance the user experience by providing greater versatility in smart home management.

The Echo Dot Max is priced at Rs 10,999 and is available in colour options of Graphite, Amethyst, and Glacier White. The Echo Studio is offered at a price of Rs 23,999 and comes in Graphite and Glacier White. Both devices can be purchased via Amazon and Flipkart, allowing consumers to explore the enhanced features offered by these new smart speakers.
