Air India Express Launches Daily Direct Flights Between Pune and Amritsar

Air India Express has officially initiated direct flights connecting Pune and Amritsar, offering a convenient travel option for passengers. This new service commenced with its inaugural flight departing from Pune on June 15. With the introduction of this route, travellers can easily access Amritsar, a city known for its spiritual significance, rich culture, historical landmarks, and diverse culinary experiences.

The daily flight schedule is designed to cater to various groups, including leisure travellers, pilgrims, students, and business personnel. Travellers can now book their flights and additional services such as ‘Gourmair’ hot meals and Xpress Ahead priority services through the airline’s website, mobile app, and other major booking channels.

Flight Schedule and Journey Details

The newly launched service operates daily, with flights departing Pune at 01:20 hrs and arriving in Amritsar at 04:10 hrs. For those returning to Pune, the flight from Amritsar departs at 05:00 hrs and reaches Pune at 07:50 hrs. This convenient timetable is expected to facilitate easy travel for many individuals looking to visit either of the two cities.

Amritsar is renowned for several significant attractions, including the revered Golden Temple, which is a major pilgrimage site drawing visitors from around the world. Additionally, the city is known for the historic Jallianwala Bagh memorial and the famous Attari-Wagah Border ceremony. These highlights make Amritsar a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists.

Pune, often termed the cultural capital of Maharashtra, boasts a rich historical tapestry alongside modern urban development. Notable landmarks, such as Shaniwar Wada and Aga Khan Palace, set against the backdrop of a climate favourable for travel, position Pune as a significant hub for education, information technology, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.

Broader Impact on Air Travel from Pune and Amritsar

With the introduction of the Pune-Amritsar flight, Air India Express now operates approximately 105 weekly flights from Pune, connecting the city to 12 different destinations, including Abu Dhabi in the UAE. This expansion enhances travel options for residents and visitors alike, contributing to the broader connectivity of the region.

In Amritsar, Air India Express also maintains 24 weekly flights linking the city with major destinations such as Delhi, Dubai, Pune, and Sharjah. This expansion supports the airline’s mission to provide robust connectivity and reliable travel options for passengers travelling to and from Amritsar.

The airline has also recently launched a campaign named ‘Xpress Wali Baat Hai’, featuring popular actor Pankaj Tripathi. The campaign aims to promote the unique experience offered by Air India Express, including comfortable seating, quality meals, warm hospitality, and an expanding network that enhances travel possibilities for passengers across domestic and international routes.
